The selection of candidates to participate in the U.S. Hispanic Leaders Program is made through an open selection process that takes into account the fulfillment of the requirements established in the terms and conditions of the call for applications. Only complete applications with the required documentation attached and received through this website before the deadline for receipt of applications will be considered. Finalist candidates may be called for a videoconference interview during the application evaluation process.

The 2024 edition will have a special focus on public policies and will allow participants to learn more about ongoing initiatives in education, health and immigration, as well as other relevant aspects of the social agenda and the Spanish economy.

Professionals of Hispanic origin from 30 to 45 years of age with a distinguished career in their area of employment (politics, cultural, business, academic)
Who can participate?
Being a Spanish-speaker is not an indispensable requirement for participation in the program, but Spanish-language skills will be given positive consideration in the selection process.
Can I participate in the program if I am not a U.S. citizen?
Yes, the program is open to both U.S. citizens and U.S. residents holding a legal residence permit. The only legal permit that is not valid for participation in this program is a student visa.
What does the program cover?
The program covers roundtrip economy airfare to Madrid from the candidate’s city of preference in the United States, 6 nights lodging, breakfast included, in a 4* hotel, all travel and living expenses as per the agenda, plus accident and travel insurance.
What does the program not cover?
The program does not cover tickets in a class other than economy, travel to and from airports in the U.S. or Madrid, any meal not specified on the agenda or any extra or additional expense during the participant’s stay.
Do I have to take out travel insurance?
All tickets issued have associated travel insurance. If broader coverage is desired, private travel insurance must be acquired. The program does not cover any broadening of insurance.
What are the dates and length of the program?
The program lasts one week. In 2023, the program will be held October 22-28, in Madrid and another Spanish city to be still determined.
Is there any reason I cannot apply?
You cannot apply if you have participated in this program before, in the Fundación Consejo España – EE.UU.’s ‘U.S., Leaders’ program, or in any similar program in Spain.
