U.S. Hispanic Leaders Program
2025 Edition: May, 4-9
Madrid and Málaga
The U.S. Hispanic population is growing in economic, political and social strength. This population group over 60 million strong is a young, diverse, enterprising community that is seeking a space of its own in the public sphere.
The U.S. Hispanic Leaders Program offers young Hispanic leaders in their respective fields, opportunities for learning and development through contact with the social, cultural, economic and political realities of Spain, a fundamental partner of the U.S. in its relations with Europe and Latin America.
Spain is a European country with strong ties to all the Americas. Enhancing U.S. Hispanics’ understanding of present-day Spain and increasing their contacts and exchanges with our country can be of special interest to U.S. Hispanics.
The fact of shared language, culture and history is a unique feature that facilitates this encounter, which is further enriched by a series of common affinities, values and interests from which Spain and the U.S. Hispanic community can mutually benefit.
The U.S. Hispanic Leaders program began in 1998 as an initiative of the Government of Spain with the goal of revealing the reality of Spain to young American Hispanics and creating a network of contacts among leading Hispanic professionals in the political, cultural, business and academic spheres and their Spanish counterparts, through an agenda in Spain dealing with the group’s specific interests. Since then, the program led to the identification of collaboration opportunities between our two countries, contributing to the empowerment of the U.S. Hispanic community and ultimately strengthening bilateral relations.
The 2025 Hispanic Leaders Program will be a special edition dedicated to members of the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators (NHCSL), the leading national association of Hispanic state legislators in the United States. Founded in 1989 as a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization, it works to develop public policies that improve the quality of life and serve as a voice for the more than 440 Hispanic legislators in the country.
The members of the organization’s board of directors will participate in this edition, so that they can get to know our country better and to strengthen Spain’s ties with personalities and entities of the Hispanic community in the United States.
